Someone gives something to the speaker or their group, and the speaker shows respect for the giver.

Respectfully describing an action done for someone

「教（おし）えてくださる」なら、相（あい）手（て）が自（じ）分（ぶん）などのために教（おし）えることを、ていねいに伝（つた）えます。

With a verb’s て form, it describes an action someone does for the speaker or their group while respecting that person.

The teacher gave me a reference book.

USAGE

Use an object with を for a gift. Add くださる to a verb’s て form for an action done for someone.

本（ほん）をくださるgive the speaker a book (respectful)
