   I read two Japanese books this month.

   3今（こん）月（げつ）から、新（あたら）しい仕（し）事（ごと）を始（はじ）めます。

   I'm starting a new job this month.

Use 今月は for a statement about this month and 今月の before a noun such as 予定. 先月 is last month and 来月 is next month.
